Aren't lumber remnants usually made into sheet goods such as particle board and MDF?
How does adding plastic (a petroleum-based product, usually. Unless there's documentation stating otherwise) make this an environmentally friendly product?

How does making it into little toy bugs make this a useful product? By not making the end product functional on higher and more diverse levels, isn't that just promoting the consumption of stuff for its own sake? I'd rather see this "discarded" lumber go back into the earth and be broken down into useful nutriants than use heat and energy to make these little toys. I don't intend to sound harsh, but there has to be more holistic thinking going on here.
